Brain

GenFlow Brain Guide

Your personal AI memory — photos, notes, and voice, auto-organized and searchable, without your data ever leaving your control.

01Introduction

Brain collects the photos, text, and voice memos you save and lets AI automatically sort, summarize, and organize them — then answers your questions using only your own saved records.

Key Features

  • Auto-classify photos, text, and voice with AI
  • Collect instantly by sending items to a Telegram bot
  • Back up records as local Markdown files in Obsidian
  • Ask Brain — Q&A that answers using only your saved data
  • Card / Timeline views, category & date filters, CSV export
🔒Brain does not store or relay your content through a GenFlow server. Records stay in your browser (extension local storage) and, if you connect them, in your own Telegram/Obsidian.
02Adding Records

There are two ways to add records to Brain.

1
In the GenFlow extension side panel, open the Brain tab and save a photo, text memo, or voice note directly.
2
Or send a photo, text, or voice message to your connected Telegram bot — Brain analyzes and saves it automatically.

Each saved item is auto-classified as Photo / Text / Voice, and items AI isn't confident about are marked Unsorted or Needs Review so you can fix them later.

03Telegram Sync

Connect a Telegram bot so anything you send from your phone gets collected into Brain automatically.

1
Open Settings → Telegram Sync on the Brain feed (genflow.work/brain) or in the extension side panel.
2
Click Connect via Telegram and follow the bot's instructions to link your account.
3
Once linked, the status shows Connected with your chat ID — send photos, text, or voice to the bot anytime.
Telegram Sync
💡Telegram sync is one-way collection — the bot only receives what you send and forwards it into Brain. It won't message you unprompted.
04Obsidian Sync

Keep a local copy of your records as Markdown files, so your memory survives even if the browser data is lost.

1
Pick any folder on your computer.
2
Brain creates a GenFlow_Brain folder inside it automatically.
3
Each record is saved there as a .md file, ready to browse or search in Obsidian.
Obsidian Sync
It's not just a backup — the more you save, the more searchable history builds up in your Brain feed too.
05Feed & Search

The Brain feed at genflow.work/brain lists every saved record.

Brain Feed
ItemDescription
Type filterAll / Photo / Text / Voice / Unsorted / Needs Review / Pinned
View modeSwitch between Card view and Timeline view
Category & date filterNarrow the list by category or a start/end date range
ExportDownload the current filtered list as a CSV file
Select & bulk deleteMulti-select records and delete them together
06Ask Brain (Q&A)

Ask Brain answers questions using only the records you've saved — nothing else is mixed in.

1
Click the Ask Brain item in the sidebar.
2
Type your question and press Send.
3
Answers cite the specific saved records they're based on, so you can verify the source.
Ask Brain
⚠️Ask Brain requires an AI key to be registered first — see the next section if you see a setup notice instead of an answer box.
07AI Key Setup

Brain's AI features (auto-classification, Ask Brain) run on your own AI key — GenFlow never stores or proxies it through a server.

ItemDescription
Register a keyAdd a Gemini or OpenAI key in the extension's AI Setup screen
Re-check statusOn genflow.work/brain, use the Re-check registration button in Ask Brain if it still shows "not registered" after setup
💡If re-checking still shows no key found, reopen the extension's AI Setup screen and confirm the key was saved successfully, then try again.
08 FAQ
Telegram is connected, but I still see the QR onboarding screen
The onboarding screen only appears when Telegram is not yet linked and no records have been saved. If it persists after linking, refresh the extension side panel's Brain tab.
Ask Brain says the key isn't registered even though I added one
Click Re-check registration status. If it still fails, reopen the extension's AI Setup screen to confirm the key saved correctly.
An item is stuck in Unsorted or Needs Review
AI wasn't confident about the category. Open the item's detail view and set the type/category manually.
Is my data uploaded to a GenFlow server?
No. Records stay in your browser's local storage. Telegram and Obsidian sync go directly to services you control — GenFlow does not store or relay the content.

ℹ️GenFlow routes your prompt directly into meta.ai's text input field and submits it automatically — no manual typing needed.
Generation per prompt can take a few minutes. The status badge shows a live elapsed-time counter (e.g. "Running · 12s") so you can see it's progressing normally.
⚠️This feature is currently in free Beta. Errors may occur during use — please contact support if you run into issues.
